NOTICE: Passenger Terminal Expo 2009 – Asia We have taken the decision to postpone Passenger Terminal EXPO 2009 – Asia until such a time as more favourable market conditions prevail. The current climate makes it difficult for many companies to embark on business in such emerging markets. Moreover, many organisations have implemented international travel restrictions. Postponing the event will allow more time for companies and individuals to plan for the event in India, which aims to achieve the high standards set by previous Passenger Terminal EXPO events. The timing of the event will be reviewed, and we will look to relaunch it in this vibrant and emerging market in 2010 or 2011. As a prelude to the relaunch, we will be organising an India/Asia-based conference as part of the Passenger Terminal EXPO 2010 conference in Brussels. From the Passenger Terminal EXPO team |
We are delighted to announce the launch of Passenger Terminal EXPO Asia 2009 Conference and Exhibition, which will take place at the Hitex Centre, Hyderabad, from 26th to 28th October.
The highly acclaimed Passenger Terminal EXPO Europe exhibition and conference together with the Railway Terminal Design and Operations Conference will provide the template for a three day event. The conference will address latest global developments, concepts and ideas in the airport and railway terminal industries with an emphasis on the vibrant Indian market. Top level speakers from the world’s leading aviation authorities, airports, airlines, railways, architects and engineering consultancies will be invited to share their views and stimulate fresh approaches and new understandings.
The exhibition alongside the conference will provide a powerful platform for a wide range of products and services, allowing face to face discussion and an ideal environment to discover new technologies and products, establish new contacts and reinforce existing relationships.
Background
The increase in global air traffic over recent years is set to continue, creating exciting opportunities for the aviation and railway sectors in India. As the 7th largest country in the world and the second largest in Asia, India is home to over a billion people (16% of the world’s population) and the need for adequate transport infrastructure is vital to a long term successful economy.
The Indian government has attached high priority to building and investing in the transport infrastructure sector, particularly in airports. Projected traffic growth of 8.5% pa, predicted for both domestic and international traffic, highlights the sector’s potential. Traditionally characterised by public sector investment and management, the airport sector is increasingly opening up to the private sector to enable the substantial investment needed to achieve India’s ambitious growth plans.
